The years following her Matrik (1994) and Abitur (1995) she spends in Germany, attending a three year course at the `School of Jewellery and Design` in Schwaebisch Gmuend. Thereafter she went to Aachen to do her apprenticeship as goldsmith which she finished in January 2001. Then finally a goldsmith Frieda worked for different companies in Germany and Namibia before opening her own Workshop in Cape Town beginning 2004. It was always her dream to have her own Workshop, her own creative space. A space where she could work in a lot of different and unique materials, often found, shaped or collected. Frieda loves to frame these materials contrasting in texture, colour and density into piece of individual jewellery. She believes jewellery should be fun, emphasizing the peculiarity of its wearer.
