IMOOI
Launched in 2000 by New York based Canadian jeweler, Anna Chan, IMOOI is an upscale contemporary jewelery label poised in the modern and uninhibited. Recognizing the lack of affordable jewelery that is truly unique and innovative, Chan set forth to deliver non - traditional designs with an emphasis on unusual material combinations and bold visual statements. Chan's previous collections: NOVA, MIX and ICE featured high polished silver juxtaposed with different materials, from leatherette to semi - precious stones. Joining forces with New York painter/designer Craig Lo Presti, IMOOI's latest unisex collection: MOD, incorporates the dynamic combination of stainless steel and rubber. The pendants, cufflinks, bracelets and rings in this collection are individual works of art encased in the multi - layered rubber, a unique marriage between visual and form.
With a wide array of inspiration, from the organic beauty of nature to Chan's own urban setting, the unusual pairing of materials in each collection captures a personality that appeals to the unique style of every individual. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Chan holds a BAA from Ryerson University in graphic design and a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design for jewelery studies. Upon graduation, in addition to overseeing Custom Design for Tiffany & Co., Chan also set up a jewelery studio in New York continuing her one of a kind work through private commissions. Her work has since been featured in a bevy of national publications including Lucky, Accessories and Toronto Fashion magazine.
