Karen Konzuk

Karen graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in 1997 with a Bachelor of Fine Art. Upon graduation she established KONZUK METALWEAR to realize her vision of designing and producing clean and considered contemporary jewelry

Influenced by the European aesthetic of designers such as C.F. Dau and Niessing, Karen created a body of work which focused on the experimentation of materials and the subtleties of design. Everyday objects, as found in architecture and industrial design, became the inspiration for her body of work.

Karen ambitiously strives to increase the awareness of her work to that of industrial design or architecture. For her, "jewelry is about furnishing the body - it should fit perfectly with one's personality. Appreciating the subtleties of art and design in our environment can begin with something as small as jewelry."
